We were commissioned by our client to prepare design for the conversion of an old chicken shed into a contemporary three bedroom home in Penruddock in Cumbria, on the edge of the Lake District.
Working closely with our client, we have secured planning permission for its conversion and for a purposeful contemporary yet agricultural architectural style.
The accommodation comprises a master bedroom and En Suite, two further bedrooms, family bathroom and large open plan living, dining kitchen space. Natural light floods in through large glazed openings. Internally the ceilings are vaulted and feature glulam beams to provide an airy and modern look.
Externally the windows and doors are black stained timber and the walls are clad in black stained vertical timber cladding. The roof is black Big 6 profiled cement sheeting on a traditional timber roof structure. Overall the property is highly insulated and heated using an air source heat pump
