The Construction (Design & Managament) Regulations 2015 brought significant changes to the way the CDM Regulations were implemented on construction projects. The removal of the CDM Co-ordinator role and the introduction of the Principal Designer role has changed the structure of project teams.

CDM2015 applies to ALL construction projects and where more than one contractor is involved in construction work, clients must appoint a Principal Designer and Principal Contractor.

On domestic projects (ie projects being carried out on your own home) the client duties, relating to managing the construction project and notifying the HSE of projects of a certain duration, often transfer to other duty holders such as the contractor, principal contractor or Principal Designer.

Ashwood Design Associates Ltd can act as Principal Designer on your project and can demonstrate our skills, training, knowledge and experience of acting on most project types.

For those clients who need support in ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 we can also provide CDM Advisor services reviewing and monitoring duty holders compliance as required.
